On February 5, 1854, the church was reorganized as a Congregational church and remained at this location until 1883, when a new brick building was built at the corner of Main and Center Streets in Fort Recovery. It's unknown when the original church building was demolished. While the church was relocated, the cemetery remained at the original site at Pisgah Hill. The congregation worshipped at the new location until 1930-31, when they elected to merge with the Christian Church. Since the Christian Church's building was larger than the Congregational Church, services were held there, and the old building was abandoned.
During the summer of 1971, an effort by the Gibson Township Trustee's office and the Fort Recovery Historical Society was launched to clean up the cemetery and reset many of the headstones that had been leaning or broken off their bases. Of the 125 headstones identified during this project, 103 received some sort of work.
The last recorded burial was in 1975. An article in the December 17, 1981 edition of the Coldwater Chronicle [Coldwater, Ohio] (page 20) reported on two historic books chronicling the history of the church being in the possession of columnist Anna Louise Miller. One was dated 1849, and the other spans from 1893 to 1905.
