Navy Man Dies
In Car Wreck
LIBERTY - R. Clifton "Tip" Kivett, 35, a master chief in the U.S. Navy, stationed at Charleston, S.C. aboard the USS Yellowstone, died Monday in an automobile accident in Charleston.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at Loftin Funeral Home Chapel in Liberty, with the Rev. William Gillett and the Rev. Paul Bruton officiating. Burial will he in Gilmore Memorial Park in Julian with military honors.
Kivett had been in the Navy for 17 years.
Survivors are widow, Mrs. Barbara Hinshaw Kivett; son, Clifton Kivett Jr. of the home; mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Council of Liberty; sister, Mrs. Tom L. Fox of Liberty.
The family will he at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. today.
