Theodore Elisee Bost, 9th of 10 sons of Ami and Jenny Bost, immigrated from Switzerland at age 17. He worked odd jobs, including road building, and finally settled a farm in Minnesota. He courted Sophie Bonjour by mail. She left Switzerland, married Theodore in Minnesota, and together they raised a family. Their letters home have been published.
