Elmer George Hoffmann, 73, of Route 1, Oostburg, died on August 31, 1980 at Memorial Hospital, Sheboygan.

He was born August 10, 1907, in the Town of Lima, he was the son of George and Alvina (Schwalbe) Hoffmann.

Mr. Hoffmann and the former Ruth Delia Scholten were married November 9, 1936, at the home of her parents in the Town of Lyndon.

The couple farmed in the Oostburg area most of their married lives.

Mr. Hoffmann drove a bus for the Oostburg School District for 23 years.

He was a member of First Reformed Church of Oostburg.

Mr. Hoffmann is survived by his wife, Ruth; a daughter, LaRae VanderPlas of Oostburg; three sons, Wendell, Jack and Darrell, all of Oostburg; 15 grandchildren; three sisters, Irma Wightman of Plymouth, Ruth LeMahieu of Cedar Grove and Edith Beisser of Sheboygan Falls; and a half-brother, Charles Allmann of Plymouth.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Herbert.

Funeral services were held on September 2, 1980 at First Reformed Church in Oostburg, preceded by a family service at the church. The Rev. Albert Van Dyke, assistant pastor, officiated.

Burial took place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
