Charles James Sanders Jr., 46, chairman of the board of Trans International Marketing Inc., Birmingham, Ala., which is establishing a shopping center in Handsboro died early Monday morning at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport where he was admitted Saturday night following an apparent heart attack.

Mr. Sanders, a resident of 1624 Moss Rock Road, Birmingham, was born Oct 29, 1924, in Sheffield, Ala.

He was a member of the Homewood Church of Christ in Birmingham, and a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Sanders is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bettye A. Sanders, Birmingham, who was with him when he was stricken; one son, Charles J. Sanders III, his mother, Mrs. B. H. Weidman, Birmingham.

The body was sent from Lang Funeral Home, Gulfport, to the Johns-Rideout Elmwood Chapel, Birmingham, for service with interment in Elmwood Cemetery.
