Josephine Liggett Craig, 93 of Washington, passed away, Tuesday, December 9, 2014.

She was born on September 26, 1921 in Scenery Hill, PA, a daughter of the late Raymond Alexander and Margaret Burkhart Liggett..

Mrs. Craig grew up on a farm with a large family. She was the youngest child and is the last of her immediate family. She graduated from Hickory High School.

On February 14, 1944, she married the love of her life, James Robert Craig, who passed away on March 6, 1999.

Mrs. Craig was a 70-year member of Fourth Presbyterian Church in Washington, where she served as a deacon and a member of the Ladies Aid Society. Her church and church family were a very important part of her life.

Josie was a dedicated homemaker who loved taking care of her family. She was a wonderful baker, which her family thoroughly enjoyed. She spent many happy Sundays and holidays with her husband and children, along with her brothers and sisters and their families at the old family farm.

Surviving are two sons, Gary (Colleen) Craig of Washington and Ronald Craig of Bethel Park; a daughter, Rebecca (David) Ferrell of Oceanside, CA; five grandchildren, Ronica Craig Bioni, Casey Craig, Jaime Craig Haner, Johanna Ferrell Hoyt and James Craig; thirteen great grandchildren, Brenna, Bryson and Brock Bioni, Kaidra Marian, Connor and Amelia Craig, Sydney Craig, Emma, Lillie and Arrow Haner, Maurah, Aislynn and Lachlan Hoyt.

Deceased in addition to her beloved husband and parents are a daughter, Sherry Corrine Craig who died at birth; seven brothers, Ralph, Alex, Stanton, Ashley, Jay, Jack and Fred; seven sisters, Hilda, Beatrice, Annie, Nora, Clara, Virginia and Gladys.

Friends will be received on Friday, December 12th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd, 925 Allison Ave, Washington. Additional visitation will be held at Fourth Presbyterian Church, 1000 Jefferson Ave, Washington, Saturday, December 13th from 10 to 11 a.m., when services will be held, with Rev. Robert Miller officiating. Burial will follow at West Alexander Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Fourth Presbyterian Church, Ladies Aid Society, 1000 Jefferson Ave, Washington, PA 15301.
