Thomas was the son of Oscar and Cora Maier. After 1940 he married Anna Dorothy Loeser. As a young man he worked as a wheel primer for an automobile company. Later he was employed as a buffer and a bat factory. At the time of his death he was a plasterer. Thomas died of peritonitis at the age of 57.
