Anita Blanchard Olson 65, passed away Friday evening Dec. 11, 2015 at her home following a lingering illness.
Anita was born August 10, 1950 in St. Anthony the daughter of Arlo Dee and Donna Williams Blanchard. She grew up in the Chester area attending school in St. Anthony Graduating from South Fremont High School. She also attended two years at Ricks College and graduated from Beautician School in Rexburg.
She married Dick Olson on Sept. 5, 1970 in the Chester LDS Church. The marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They made their home in St. Anthony where they have resided for many years. Anita worked for the Rexburg Standard and journal newspaper for 33 years in both the sports and editoral departments of the paper
Anita loved watching her kids and grandkids play in sports. She loved her dogs and horses and had a teddy bear collection.
She is survived by her husband Dick of St. Anthony, Children- Torry (Olivia) Olson, Twin Groves, ID. Eric (Jamie) Olson, Chester, grandchildren Tristan George Olson, Trinity Kathryn Olson, Treygan Jack Olson, Camden Olson. Siblings - Rick (Shelly) Blanchard, Chester, Id.; Bruce (Teresa) Blanchard, Rexburg, ID.; Kerry (Yvonne) Blanchard, Rigby, ID.; Todd (Carol) Blanchard, Rexburg, Id.; Her mother Donna Blanchard, Rexburgr, ID.; She was preceded in death by her father Arlo Dee Blanchard in July of 2003.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the St. Anthony Idaho Stake Center with Bishop Wade Geilser of the Twin Groves 1st ward officiating. Friends may call at the church Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 just prior to the services at l:00.p.m. Burial will be in the Chester Cemetery
