OBITUARY.
Died, at his residence, in Rutland township, Meigs county, on the 7th inst., John M'Quigg, aged forty-nine years.
The deceased was a native of Tioga county, New York, and removed to Meigs county about twenty-five years ago, where he married the youngest daughter of John Miles, one of the first settlers of the county. The deceased, since his residence in this county, has had committed to him, at different times, duties of high public trust, which he has always discharged with scrupulous fidelity. He leaves a widow and two children-the eldest a son who was married a few years since-the younger a daughter abut eighteen months old. He had been afflicted for many years with indigestion, and his life on earth was finally terminated by Gastritis, or Inflammation of the Stomach. His remains were interred on the 8th inst., near his residence, and the funeral attended by numerous friends and acquaintances, all deeply sympathizing with the much bereaved family.
