Mabel O'Day Felker, the daughter of John and Lucinda Felker, was born on June 20, 1875 in Barton, Vermont.

In her early twenties, she moved to San Francisco, CA for a period of time before moving to Carson City, Nevada. By 1917, she had left Carson City and settled in Reno where two of her nieces lived.

In Reno, Mabel worked as as an ordained spiritual minister providing fortune readings to her customers. According to information provided to the Reno Gazette by her nieces upon her death, Mabel had never married.

She was buried in Our Mother of Sorrow Cemetery in Reno.
