Bob was born in Lock Haven on Oct. 3, 1943, the son of the late William and Mary E. High Yost.
He was a 1962 graduate of Lock Haven High School.
Bob served in the United States Marine Corps from 1962 to 1968, operating as an E.O.D and Atomic Engineer in the Vietnam War.
On Aug. 30, 1969, at the First Church of Christ, Lock Haven, he married the former Ruth DeGarmo, who survives.
Bob was employed at Hammermill Paper Co. for 14 years before opening an auto mechanic garage of which he owned and operated until his retirement.
Bob enjoyed fishing and duck hunting and loved the time he spent with his wife, children and grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Angel (Paul) Lester of Williamsport; a son, Robert F. Yost of Virginia; a brother, Raymond (Patrice) Yost of Montana; a granddaughter, Sophie Lester; and a step-granddaughter Lexi Duffy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Richard Yost.
A military honor guard service will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2017, at 7:30 p.m. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, Pa. 17745.
A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:30 p.m. until the time of the service.
Private inurnment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Clinton County SPCA animal shelter.
