"Esther H. Ness 1922 - 1999. Esther H. Ness, 76, Cloquet, died Friday, Jan. 15, 1999 at her home. She was born on Dec. 7, 1922 in Palisade to the late Rev. Andrew and Laura (Larsen) Ness. She graduated from Cloquet High School. She was a confidential secretary for the former Northwest Paper Company in Cloquet from 1940-1982. She enjoyed music, fishing and playing baseball with her nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Curtiss Ness; one sister, Ruth Alstad and one nephew, Russel Ness.
She is survived by two sisters, Jane and Linda Ness, both of Cloquet; nieces, Bobbie Gesuale of Billings, Mont., Lorraine Deming of Great Falls, Mont., and Marilyn Alstad of Bennington, Vt.; nephews, James Ness of Bozeman, Mont., and James Alstad of Grand Rapids; and was a special greataunt and buddy to Jason, Brett, Matthew, Glenna, James and Marilyn Alstad.
Funeral services were held on Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Cloquet Presbyterian Church with Rev. Marilee Olson officiating. Interment followed in Hillcrest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
