Mrs. Florence Wanda Housley Byington, 58, Lava Hot Springs, died Wednesday at her home.

She was born July 16, 1899, at Hyrum, Utah, a daughter of George F. and Mary Ann Buckley Housley. She lived in Hyrum until she was 14, then lived in Menan until her marriage to Roy Lovell Byington April 4, 1923 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They lived in Burley for a year then moved to Lava Hot Springs area and had lived there since 1924.

Mrs. Byington was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had served a stake mission for the church and was active in Relief Society.

She is survived by her husband, four sons, Thayle L., Pocatello; Gerald L., Ely, Nv.; S-Sgt. Wendell H., Air Force; Ronald J., Lava Hot Springs; two brothers, James Baron, Lorenzo; Edmond Baron, Blackfoot; four sisters, Mrs. Guy (Emma) Fife, Menan; Mrs. Nell Fife, Grant; Mrs. Maude Campbell, Lorenzo; Mrs. Lizzie Crapo, Parker; and eleven grandchildren. One daughter, Alice Jewkes, preceded her in death three years ago.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Lava Hot Springs LDS Ward chapel with Bishop Morris W. Teeples officiating. Burial will be in the Lava Hot Springs Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Manning Funeral Chapel until Saturday at 10 a.m. and from 11 a.m. until time of services at the Lava LDS Ward Chapel.
