David M Gann of Sonora Dies

Funeral services for David Marvin Gann, 69, retired farmer, who died at 6:30 pm, Sunday at his home in the Sonora community, were conducted from the Arbor Grove Baptist Church at 4 pm, Monday with the Rev. Milton Williams and the Rev. John Atkins officiating.

Burial was in the Arbor Grove Cemetery with Houston Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Gann had been in failing health for seven months.

Pallbearers were: John Gann, James Duncan, Joe Bullock, Franklin Weaver, Harrison Upshaw and William Henderson.

Mr. Gann, the son of the late Thomas F Gann and Mattie E Long Gann, was born July 13, 1894. He was a lifelong resident of Chickasaw county and a member of the Arbor Grove Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jessie Lee Doss Gann; a daughter, Mrs. John Nelson of Houston; two sons, Leonard Gann and Durell Gann, both of Houston; a sister, Mrs. Harvey Allen of Houston; three brothers, Clarence, Frank and Richard Gann, all of Houston, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
