CARTER TRIBUTE AT ANTIOCH

Funeral services for James Napoleon Carter, 85, widely known retired minister, and father of Jack Carter, of Andalusia, were held Thursday, July 14, at the Antioch Congregational Church.
The Rev. Mr. Carter died July 11. He had been in declining health recently. Rev. C.C. Bennett, pastor of the West Highland Baptist Church of Andalusia, officiated at the last rites. Burial was in the Antioch Cemetery with Foreman Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Music at the funeral was by the Antioch choir with Miss Lynn Nelson as accompanist.

Survivors are five sons, The Rev. Miller Carter, Garland; Johnnie M. Carter, Niagara Falls, N.Y.; Shelton Carter, Lakeland, Fla.; Comer Carter, Mobile, and Jack Carter, Andalusia; three daughters, Mrs. Lola Straughn, Lakeland, Fla.; Mrs. Boots Wise, Akron, Ohio; and Mrs. Edith Adams, Andalusia; 23 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Guy Carmichael, Earl Pope, Julyn King, Max Dye, Earnest Evans and Hollis Adams.
