Mr. Shaffer died Thursday after a two-year illness. He is survived by his widow, Beryl J., of 1006 NE 68th Ave., Vancouver, and sons, Kenneth and David, and a daughter, Judith Ann, all at home.
His parents, a brother and two sisters also survive.
Mr. Shaffer served in the Navy in World War II.
He was born in Oreogn and lived most of his life in Portland before moving to Vancouver eight years ago. He was a cabinet maker.
