-- Graveside services for Mrs. Agnes Byrd Thomas Couch were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 17, in Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Michael Shaffer officiating.

Mrs. Couch, 86, died Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, at Chester Regional Nursing Center.

Born in Harnett County, N.C. on June 3, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Rose Byrd. A member of First Baptist Church of Lowrys, Mrs. Couch was the widow of Coleman Couch.

Survivors include two stepsons, Donald C. Couch and his wife, Brenda, of Pickens and William C. Couch and his wife, Faye, of Chester; a stepdaughter, Becky Cannon and her husband, L.B., of Chester; a sister, Mavis Johnson; six step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Lowrys, 3981 Armenia Road, Chester.
