EXIE MARIE GIBSON
Former Davis resident Exie Marie Gibson, 79, of Moore died June 5, 2003, at Norman. Funeral services were June 10 at First United Methodist Church in Moore, with the Rev. David A. Burris officiating. Burial was in Green Hill Cemetery.
She was born Nov. 2, 1923, in Ardmore to James C. and Birdie Mae (Bailey) Prater. She grew up in the Ardmore and Davis areas and graduated from Ardmore High School in 1941. She worked as a banker and owned a dry cleaners in Davis. Mrs. Gibson had lived in Moore since 1985. She married Paul E. Bridges, who preceded her in death, and later married Dalton "Hoot" Gibson, who also preceded her in death. She belonged to Widows Support Group and was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Moore.
Survivors include: two sons, Paul E. Ford of Las Vegas, Nev., and Ralph L. Ford of Seoul, South Korea; two stepsons, Wyatt Gibson of Tulsa and Phil Gibson of Dibble; a brother, Frank Prater of Gainesville, Texas; two sisters, Anita DaVault of Colorado and Loreta Pearl Prater of Idaho; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and two special nieces, Elizabeth Winkler and Altena Lee Thomas. Services were under the direction of Fox Funeral Home.
