Funeral services for Charles Monahan, a retired career soldier and former furniture dealer, were at 10 a.m. Monday from the St. Suzanna Catholic Church in Plainfield. Burial was in the Arlington National Cemetery.
Mr. Monahan retired from the Army with the rank of captain in 1925 after serving for 30 years. He had previously served in the Marine Corps and saw duty in the Spanish American War and World War I.
Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Faye Monahan, Plainfield, and a brother, Dennis Monahan, Pawtuckett, R. I.
