Friedrich Johann "Chris" Christian Grüschow came to Chicago from Moltzow (Rambow Parish), Mecklenburg-Schwerin (Germany) in 1853 with his wife, Louise Rose Gruschow and their child. In 1854, his parents and other brothers & sisters & their families immigrated to Chicago. The family attended First St. Paul's German Lutheran Church in Chicago. Chris had several occupations in Chicago; teamster, policeman (1867/68), roofer, etc.
Their children that survived into adulthood are: Albert Theodore Carl, Christian Johann August, William Carl, Mrs. Alma Verell, and Mrs. Wilhelmine "Minnie" Friedericke Olander.
He was a twin with his sister Mrs. Frida Seyberlich/Seyferlich.
