She was a daughter of the Rev. George Nixon and Mary Isabella Deacon married in Kingston, Canada Oct. 9, 1867. She married Henry Carroll Farrand in the Tremont section of the Bronx, New York with her father performing the ceremony. There were eight children of this marriage of whom seven lived to adulthood. After Blanche died in 1926 her husband eventually married her old sister Florence Deacon Nixon who was always Auntie Bo to her nieces and nephews who later became her step-children.
