Desmond was in the US Air Force and served in WW II, Korea, and Viet Nam. He was a Senior Master Sargent and a career military man.

Desmond's first child was a daughter, Janelle, born around 1947 in Germany.
Desmond's second child was a son, Greg, born in 1949 in Missouri.
(Janelle and Greg had different mothers)

Desmond's first marriage was to Corrine and they raised four children:
Kenny, Frannie, Sammy and John.

Desmond's military service enabled him to live and travel out of the country for most of his life.

Des and Corrine lived in Japan for awhile in the 50's where Fran and Sammy were born.

Eventually Kenny, Sammy and John lived with Des's brother, Sam. Sam and Betty raised the boys and eventually adopted Kenny and John. Sammy died in a tractor accident on the farm in April 1970.

Desmond's second marriage was to Julie and together they had Connie.

Uncle Des was a quiet person but he was a very caring person.

He is my mothers brother and my uncle.
