Mrs. Ruth McElveen Denmark Rimes, 86, of 53 Lake Drive in Midway, died Saturday at the Chatham County Nursing Center after an extended illness.
She was a native of Bulloch County and was a member of the Taliaferro Baptist Church, the Dorkas Sunday School Class and the Jolly Sixties Club at Bible Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, Thomas Rimes of Great Falls, S.C.; five daughters, Mrs. Stella Rollins, Mrs. Ethel Bell and Mrs. Maggie Roof, all of Great Falls, Mrs. Minnie Ellison of Lake George and Mrs. Jeanette Rimes Hall of Fairborn, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Mrs. J.R. Tillman of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Maggie Burnsed of Savannah; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Fox and Weeks Funeral Home with burial in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
