James Colvas Burnsed, 78, died Jan. 5 at St. Joseph's Hospital.
He was a native of Bulloch County and a resident of Savannah most of his life. He retired from American Cyanamid where he was a production supervisor for many years. He was an active member of Ardsley Park Baptist Church and Bull Street Baptist Church over the years and more recently was a congregant of Ferguson Avenue Baptist Church.
He was a Master Mason for more than 50 years and a member of Acacia Lodge 452. He was a charter member and past president of the Oriental Band of the Alee Temple.
SURVIVORS: his wife, Thelma Scarborough Burnsed; a daughter and son-in-law, Drs. Adelle Burnsed-Geffen and Theodore Geffen; a sister, Mrs. Gloria Lanier of Pittsburgh; two grandsons, Zvee James and Joseph Burnsed Geffen; and several nieces and a nephew.
VISITATION: noon-1:30 p.m. today at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
FUNERAL: 1:30 p.m. today at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel, burial in Bonaventure Cemetery.
