Champion Competition Athlete. A competitive figure skater, she paired with her brother Peter Kennedy to become a dominant pairs champion in the 1940s and 1950s in the United States, but were unable to translate their winning to Olympic Games success. Known as "The Kennedy Kids", they won five consecutive United States championships from 1948 to 1952, two North American Championships in 1949 and 1951, and a World title in the 1950 World Figure Skating Championships in London, England. She and her brother were then made members of the 1952 United States Olympic Ice Skating team that competed at the Winter Games, held in Oslo, Norway. There, they won the Silver Medal, coming in second to the West German pair of Ria Baran and Paul Falk. In 1991 she and her brother were inducted into the United States Figure Skating Hall of Fame in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
