Suddenly, at the residence of their son-in-law in Chittenango, the Rev. John Baum and his wife.
The funeral will be attended at the place aforesaid on Wednesday next, at 10 o'clock a.m., with the usual Masonic ceremonies. Mr. Baum having long been a worthy and conscious member of the Fraternity.

At a regular communication of Fort Brewerton lodge, No 255, of free and accepted Masons, held in their Lodge room on Wednesday, Aug. 2nd, 1854, the following resolutions were adopted:
Whereas, It hath pleased the Supreme Architect and Ruler of the Universe, to remove from among us our late worthy brother and W. Master, John Baum, who, together with his wife, suddenly departed this life at Chittenango on the 3rd of July last, thus solemnly and forcibly reminded us of the uncertainty of life and the tied that bind us here, Therefore,
Revolved that as a lodge, we receive the announcement of the decease of our brother with feelings of sorrow, and those feelings are heightened by the suddenness of his death and the loss we are called upon to sustain,
Resolved, that this Lodge and fraternity have in the death of brother Baum been deprived of an efficient and faithful officer, whose administration was ever characterized by uprightness and activity, and a brother of tried and true worth.
Revolved, That as a Lodge, we tender to his surviving friends and relatives our warmest sympathies. In the bereavement they are called to sustain, and recommend them to the protection and support of that Being who has removed him in the midst of this usefulness, thereby depriving them of an affectionate father, brother and friend.
Revolved, That a suitable obituary of our deceased brother be prepared, and places in the archives of this lodge.
Revolved, That a copy of these resolutions be signed by our W. Master, and Secretary, and forwarded to the family of the deceased.
Revolved, That a duly attested transcript of the above proceedings be sent for publication to the Palladium and Times, Oswego; Journal and Standard, Syracuse; Masonic Register, New York, and Pulaski Democrat.
