John W. Bennett, Sr., 64, of Friendly, WV, died, October 7, 2009, at his residence. He was born, January 30, 1945, at Holiday Cove, WV, a son of the late Clifford and Twila Smith Bennett. He was a 37 year member of the International Operating Engineers Local 132 in Charleston, WV, and he had worked for the James White Construction Company in Weirton, WV.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Rhonda Huff Bennett, son, John W. Bennett, Jr. and his wife, Connie of Colliers, WV, daughter, Samantha Faye Bennett of Rochester, PA, step-daughter, Stacey Cathers of Parkersburg, WV, seven grandchildren, Kelly, Daniela, Jade, John, III, John, Thad, and Mark, four great grandchildren, sisters, Thelma Preston, Mary Paglisotti, and Debbie Brown all of Burgettstown, PA, brother, Danny Bennett of Middlebourne, WV, his rottweiler, Mady and his black lab, Raven, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his rottweiler, Nikita, and brothers, Clifford Bennett and Mike Bennett.
Services will be held Sunday, October 11, 2009, at 2 P. M. at the Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, WV with Pastor Darrell Mayfield officiating. Interment will be in the Bennett Family Cemetery, Pleasants County, WV.
