Frances ‘Frankie' Shrewsbury Clark Garrett, 86, of 396 City View Heights, Princeton and a lifelong resident of Mercer County, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2002 at Princeton Community Hospital.
Born on June 10, 1916, in the coal mining town of Goodwill, she was a daughter of the late Arrabelle Linkous Shrewsbury Moore and Robert William Shrewsbury.
Mrs. Garrett had been a resident of Princeton for 45 years and was a homemaker.
For many years she was a member of the Duhring Church of Christ and she later became a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church of Princeton.
She was the last surviving sibling of the Shrewsbury-Moore family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Claude C. Clark and her second husband, Claude A. Garrett; and a son, Larry ‘Joe' Clark.
Survivors include her daughter, Charlotte C. Estep and her husband, Ted W. of Forest, Va.; daughter-in-law, Barbara L. Clark of Red Lion, Pa.; special step-daughter-in-law, Ila D. Garrett of Princeton; step –grandson, Wesley Garrett of Princeton; special niece, Betty S. Kirby of Bluefield. Also survived by her extended Garrett, Clark, Shrewsbury, and Moore families, her loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a special lifetime friend, Leona Hager.
Graveside rites will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Roselawn Memorial Gardens on the Courthouse Road in Princeton with the Minister R.B. Pickett officiating.
Burial will follow the graveside rites where grandson and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.
