Rev. Robert Charles Boyd, age 73, died Saturday, October 25, 2014 at his home in Thomasville, N.C. surrounded by his family.

Bob was born in Robinson, IL, the son of Lyle & Marilyn (Correll) Boyd on October 25, 1941. On Dec 31, 1959 he married his high school sweetheart Bernice Knoblett in Robinson.

He graduated from Robinson High School in 1959 and later was ordained to the ministry in the United Church of Christ where he continued to serve until failing health required him to leave the pulpit a few months before his death.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two sons Michael and Timothy. Surviving besides his wife one daughter, three sons, thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren along with three brothers, several aunts, uncles, nieces, & nephews from the Crawford County area.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date with a burial at Kirk Cemetery.
