February 1, 1913 RT- Jefferson Ames has sold his farm on the Grand Gorge road to his son Carlos. Jefferson has purchased the old toll gate property east of Stamford and taken possession.

1913 Gilboa Monitor- Jefferson Ames of Stamford died last Friday night of injuries sustained during the afternoon when a heavy dump cart passed over his body. Ames was driving a team on the state road construction and was thrown from the seat of the cart when it passed over a hole in the road with a jolt Before he could clear himself from the wheels one of them passed over the middle of his body, causing internal injuries. He survived only a few hours. He is survived by his wife, a daughter and three sons. He was 66 years of age. The deceased was a brother of Mrs. Alfred Mackey of this village and Mr. and Mrs. Mackey were in Stamford Monday in attendance to the funeral.
