She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arthur Frank Barry, Sr.; one daughter, Lynda Lee Barry; parents, Lee and Bessie Nezat Danel; one brother, H.J. "Bubber" Danel; and her step-father, Francis Burleigh, Sr.

A long term resident of Lafayette, Bessie loved her children, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She devoted herself to the caretaking of all in her family. Bessie Lee loved tennis and working out at Red Lerille's, from the beginning days of Red's. She was an active member for over 50 years. She always loved being outside, either by the pool, the beach or in her sports car! Bessie loved life to the fullest. Mardi Gras was one of her most favorite activities. She enjoyed several Mardi Gras Krewes throughout her life. Bessie Lee will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her.

Her caregivers became her second family. We thank sincerely, with deep love, Lisa Chargois, Helen Chargois and Fay Cluse for their compassionate and loving care. Lisa's grandchildren, Luke and Amìa, were like Bessie's own.
