BREWER - Curtis D. Beatham, 63, of 434 South Main Street, died Nov. 18 at a Brewer nursing home after a short illness. he was born in Brewer July 17, 1914, the son of Leroy and Clara (Downes) Beatham. He was graduated from Brewer High School and was employed by Eastern Fine Paper Co. for 26 years. For the last 10 years he was employed at Husson College. he was a member of the 36th Division of the U. S. Army during World War II, serving in Africa, Italy, France and Germany. he was a member and past master of St. Andrew's Lodge; a member of Mount Mariah Chaplter; a member and past connamder of St. John's Commandery; a member and past sovereign of Red Cross of Constantine; a member and R. and S. M. Illustrious Master, Bangor Council No. 5; a member and past patron of Tuscan Chapter, OES; a member and past commander of Isaac E. Clewley Post, Veterans of Freign Wars; an active member of teh Second Congregational Church of Brewer, of which he and his wife were in charge of the youth group known as the Monday Nighters for 12 years. He taught the kindergarten class at the church for the past 10 years and was known to all as Mr. Curt. he was a member of the Y Squares dance group for 18 years and traveled extensively in that recreation. He is survived by his wife, Doris (Littlefield) Beatham of Brewer, whom he married Feb. 14, 1942; his mother, Clara Beatham, Brewer; two brothers, Everett, Orrington and Roland, Brewer; a sister, Mrs. Patricia Fournier, Brewer; several nieces and nephews. A brother, Walter Lindwood Beatham, pre-deceased him in 1967. Funeral services were held Monday at 1 p.m. at the Second Congregational Church, Brewer, with the Rev. Arthur Woodward officiating. Friends may call at the Harvard H. Clark Funeral Home, 55 South Main Street, Brewer Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Masonic memorial services will be conducted by the officers of St. Andrews lodge at the funeral home Sunday at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Curtis Beatham may be made to the Organ Fund at the Second Congregational Church or the Eye Foundation of the Grand Commandery of Maine, in care of Charles Hamm, 47 Holland Street, Bangor. Burial will be in the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Augusta.

BREWER Funeral services for Curtis D. Beatham will be held 1 pm Monday at the Second Congregational Church of Brewer with the Rev. Arthur Woodward officiating. Interment will be in the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Augusta. Arrangements by the Harvard H. Clark Funeral Home 55 So. Main St., Brewer.
