Peggy (Behnke) Archie was born to Odos and Glee Arnett.

Peggy lived most of her young life between Albion and Marshall Michigan helping out on the family farm. She was a member of the Marshall High School class of 1948.

She helped to make a happy home for her children (Judy, Jeri, Jackie and Billy) with her first husband, Bill Behnke in Marshall and then Charlotte, MI. After marrying Floyd Archie and moving to Grand Ledge, MI she retired with Floyd to Winterhaven, FL in 1982.

She enjoyed spending time with her mother, Glee, sisters, Elma Gene and Glee Ellen where they all enjoyed shuffle board, playing cards and listening to country music at their favorite hangout, Allens, where Floyd could show off his musical talent for his blushing bride. The favorite part of life was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grand children which she loved with all her heart. She will be sorely missed as she always brightened our days and nights with love and laughter.

She is survived by her daughters, Judy (Jim) MacInness of Charlotte and Jerri (Brian) Elliston of Charlotte; son, Bill (Lora) Behnke of Charlotte; grandchildren, Beth (Stan) Oldfield, Kim & Marci Bankhead, Jeff (Danielle) Whitely, Jamie Whitely, Erica Andreau, Kristin Gavin, BJ (Ashley) Behnke and Megan & Alyson Behnke; great grandchildren, Sara & Sydney Oldfield and Will & May Gavin; sister Gene Bosserd and brother-in-law Paul Robinson.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bill Behnke; second husband, Floyd Archie; and daughter, Jacalyn Dempsey.

Funeral services were Friday, November 19, 2010 at Pray Funeral Home with niece, Carolyn Robinson-Fisher officiating.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Eaton Community Hospice.
