Arminta Adkins' Funeral Planned
Mrs. Arminta Mae Bennett Adkins, 80, of Circle View Drive, Harper Heights, died at her home at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday after suffering an apparent heart attack.
Final services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Harper Heights Baptist Church with the Revs. Ernest Barley and Robert Powers officiating. Burial will follow in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
Born at Pipestem, Sept. 24, 1890, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Marshall and Gurinda Mae Lane Bennett. She had lived in Raleigh County since 1939 and was a member of the Harper Heights Baptist Church.
Her husband, John Thomas died in 1945 and a son, Ray, and a daughter Gladys preceded her in death in 1962.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Edith Angle, Eccles; five sons, Leonard, Ralph, Curtis and Harless, all of Harper Heights and Clarence, Route 1, Mount Hope; a foster son, Sgt. Jerry Wayne Bennett, Ft. Worth, Tex.; a sister, Mrs. Gustie Fletcher, Stanaford; two half brothers, Hubert Bennett, Harper and Obie Bennett, Hinton; a half-sister, Mrs. Dorothy Taylor, Page; 23 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
The body will be taken from Melton Mortuary to the home at 4 p.m. Friday where friends may call and to the church one hour prior to services.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
