Bertha Bartlett of Bedford, IN, died Sunday, February 21, 1999, at Westview Manor. Born on February 5, 1907, in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of William Valentine and Cordelia (Mitchell) Blackwell. She married Winford Bartlett on July 9, 1923, and he preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons, Opal Bartlett of Bedford, IN, and Dwight Bartlett of Heltonville, IN; three daughters: Peggy Ritter of Bedford, IN, Jeanie Reuter and Velma Chambers, both of Oolitic, IN; two brothers, Burl and Birtle Blackwell, both of Bedford, IN; and one half-brother, Dale Deckard of Bedford, IN. She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Doris Irene Bartlett; and one son, Virgal D. (Tickie) Bartlett.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Bartlettsville Christian Church.
Services for Bertha Bartlett will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 24th, at the Bartlettsville Christian Church with the Rev. Claude Cassada officiating. Burial will follow in the Bartlettsville Christian Church Cemetery.
