Helen Argenbright, 72, of 4110 Navajo Drive, Johnson City, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2007 at the Johnson City Medical Center following a brief bout with cancer. She was a native of Johnson County, daughter of Danford Grace Bowman and the late Dana Bowman. Helen had resided in Quincy, Illinois and Jacksonville, Florida. She returned to Johnson City following her retirement as manager of the Carriage House Apartments in Jacksonville. Helen had also worked for many years for the ITT/North Electric Company. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jeter R. Herrmann.Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and Great grandmother. She was a member of the Sinking Creek Baptist Church.Survivors include: her husband, Luther Albert Argenbright of the home; her mother, Danford Grace Bowman; a son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan R. and Kim Herrmann of Kingsport; a daughter, Debra Young of Johnson City; two granddaughters, Heather and Emma Grace Herrmann of Kingsport; three grandsons, Jonathan Herrmann of Kingsport, Christopher Shawn Young of Johnson City and Eric Young and his wife Christy of Johnson City; two great grandsons, Brandon and Blake Young, both of Johnson City; two brothers and a sister-in-law, David R. and Joann Bowman of Jonesborough and William D. Bowman of Johnson City; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Chris Lowe of Johnson City, Cara and James Moss of Harriman, Sue and David Rowland of Jonesborough and Jayne Brogdon of Johnson City; a special friend, Jean Adams of Greeneville.A funeral service is scheduled for Monday, December 10, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. in the South Chapel of the Morris " Baker Funeral Home under the direction of Rev. Reece Harris. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until time of service at 7:30 p.m. A committal service will be conducted on Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at the Telford Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Active pallbearers will be her nephews. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home for a procession leaving by 12:15 p.m. to the cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Research Center or to the American Heart Association, First American Center, 208 Sunset Drive, Suite 595A, Johnson City, TN 37604.
