Luverna was married to Dale Bastman on December 18, 1941 at Jackson, Minnesota. The couple made their home in Sioux Valley Township, Jackson County, MN, where they farmed. When they retired March 1, 1975, they moved to Lake Park.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Lake Park, where she was active in the Presbyterian Afternoon Circle. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, baking, crochet, and counted-cross stitch.
Luverna passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2004 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake at eighty-two years of age.
She is survived by her husband, Dale Bastman of Lake Park, sons, Stanley Bastman (Marilyn) of Spencer, Donald Bastman (Trudy) of Gilbert, Arizona, and Leslie Bastman (Mary) of Mesa, Arizona; sister, Viola May Siebke of Spirit Lake, six grandchildren, Wade, Joshua, Ryan, Amy, Cole and Lacey Bastman; three great grandchildren, Daylain, Jayde and William Bastman; other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Otto Karl, Leroy Leonard and Charles, sisters Elvera Luella Riemers and Leona Bertha Stofferahn.
