DEATH OF MRS. GILES H. ALFORD
Yesterday morning at 7 o’clock Mrs. Adeline Curtis Cadwell, widow of Giles Humphrey Alford, died at her home in Windham street after a long illness.
She was a native of Bloomfield and was the youngest daughter of Ira and Phebe Fisher Cadwell. She was born March 22, 1834, and was married to Mr. Alford, November 13, 1855. Shortly afterwards Mr. and Mrs. Alford came here where they made their home.
Mrs. Alford became a widow four years ago. She was not a member of any church, but attended the services at the First Congregational Church.
She is survived by two children, Carl R., who conducts the hardware business his father established here, and Maud E., who lived at home.
The funeral services will be held at the house tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock and the body will then be placed in the receiving vault at Willimantic Cemetery.
