Mabel was the 5th of 6 children; "Officially" she had no middle name but was routinely called "Mabel Marie" by family members and the 'Marie' name stuck. Mabel married John Edgar Baines on January 28, 1947 in Caldwell, Idaho. They had 5 children: Ronald Edgar; John Carl "Bud"; Carlena Ann; Jay Douglas; and Jack Lee. Ronald & Jack both died as infants.
