"Mrs. Emma Cooper, aged 69, former Cooperstown resident, died Friday morning in the Benedict Memorial Hospital in Ballston Spa. She was born on Sept. 11, 1888 in Fly Creek, the daughter of George and Lavina (Fenton) Graves. She married George W. Cooper in October, 1911, at Cooperstown. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cooperstown. Surviving are her husband; one daughter, Mrs. William Horan of Ballston Lake; one son, George W. Cooper, Jr., of Portland, Ore.; six grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Almond Newkirk of Ilion and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the Ingalls Funeral Home in Cooperstown, with the Rev. Merlin W. Bradley, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Cooperstown, officiating.
