Richard Deacon served under General Wolseley during the Riel Rebellion.
Richard Deacon was the first certified boat captain on the Saskatchewan River. He built and operated The Josie, the Marion and the Pathfinder on the river. He also operated the Red Rock Brick com. and supplied bricks to Prince Albert, Sask. and other places in Canada and the U.S.A.
Louise Truth Perry was the adopted daughter of Richard Deacon.
