Dot was a member of the Homemaker's Club and enjoyed the fellowship of many friends at their meetings held at the Pleasant Grove Community Center. She was also happy to assist with Meals on Wheels in the community for several years, caring for the homebound.
She was a member of Cottage Hill Baptist Church and the Dorcas Sunday School class. While she was active, she especially enjoyed many road trips with the Senior Adult group, "The Joy Club".
Dot was known for her love of flowers and was envied by many for her "green thumb". Anyone who visited Dot knew of her generous spirit. She always made sure you never left her home hungry and that you carried something home with you, whether it be a rose from her garden or something from her kitchen.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Jimmy Dixon, Sr.
She is survived by her three children, Darlene Rainwater (Jim), Jim Dixon (Pat), and Jeff Dixon, three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
