Herman Gossens 73, 232 N. Sidney Street, Kimberly, died about 10 o'clock Thursday evening. He had suffered a stroke while in his garden early in the week and had not regained consciousness. Surviving are four daughters, Sister Mary Fidelis, Wheaton, Ill.; Sister Mary Illumina, St. Joseph hospital, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Fred Never and Mrs. Frank Brooks, Kimberly; four sons, Arthur, Joseph, Norbert and Rene, all of Kimberly; a brother, William, Greenleaf; two sisters, Mrs. Regina Coonen, Appleton; and Mrs. Martin Hutches, De Pere; and 21 grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Jansen Funeral home, Kimberly, from 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon until the services. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 on Saturday and on Sunday evenings. The solemn high funeral mass will be at 9 o'clock Monday morning at Holy Name Church, Kimberly, with the Rev. C. F. Vanden Borne as celebrant. The Rev. Victor De Cleene and the Rev. La Verne De Cleene, St. Norbert college, De Pere, Nephews of the deceased, will act as deacon and sub-deacon. Burial is to be in the parish cemetery. Gossens was born April 16, 1876, in De Pere and lived in Kimberly for the last 30 years. He was employed by the Kimberly-clark corporation until he retired four years ago.
