Mrs. Deryl Guest Alewine, age 71, of Royston, passed away at her home on Tuesday, June 18, 2013.
Mrs. Alewine was born in Elberton on August 10, 1941, daughter of the late Malcolm Guest and Evelyn Fleming Guest. She was an inspector, having worked with Almar Manufacturing, in Washington, and was a member of the Royston Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Alewine was preceded in death by her brother, Wayne Guest; and brothers-in-law, Marvin Wilson, Jimmy Johnson, and Charles Liles.
Survivors include her husband, Donald "Sonny" Alewine, of Royston; sisters, Joan Wilson, of Tignall, Shirley Johnson and Lisa (Glenn) Gunter, both of Elberton, and Donna Liles, of San Antonio, Texas; and special caregiver, Darlene Parker. She is also survived by her loving American Eskimo Spitz, Lacy.
Funeral services for Mrs. Alewine will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, at the Pruitt Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Bill Hayes and Mr. Greg Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, in Royston.
The family will receive friends at Pruitt Funeral Home from 1 p.m. on Saturday until the funeral hour. The family is at the home of Shirley Johnson, 1098 Lexington Highway, Elberton.
