Marietta (Mary) Hall, died Saturday, Sept. 26, in Bismarck where she lived for the last 42 years, following a month-long battle with lymphoma. Mary Broege was born on Nov. 30, 1924, in South Wayne, Wisconsin, to Carl and Bertha Broege. She married in 1959. They lived in Prairie du Chien, WI; Devils Lake, ND; Martin, SD; Missouri Valley, IA, before moving to Bismarck in 1973. Mary was an active athlete and outdoors woman, hunting, fishing, camping, golfing and traveling abroad extensively with her husband. Everyone who knew her admired her friendly, outgoing personality. Friends who knew her well and strangers from travel groups alike applied the word "spunky" to her. She was well-known as an excellent bowler. Mary was actively involved in planning and hosting when the Women's International Bowling Congress tournament was held in Bismarck in 1989. Two years earlier she was Division I singles champion in the North Dakota Women's Bowling Association tournament at Jamestown.

*NOTE: There are 2 sets of memorials for Mary's parents on Find a Grave. Each in a different cemetery. I have linked her to the set that is in the correct cemetery.
