Mrs. Doris Hinson Brackeen

DIED: June 1, 2013
LOCATION: Hohenwald, Tennessee
Mrs. Brackeen was born in Ecorse, MI to the late John Thomas and Edith Fite Hinson. She passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at the Lewis Co. Nursing and Rehab Center following a short illness. She was married to the late W. B. Brackeen for 65 years. She was an avid gardener, whether it was flowers or vegetables. Her roses will never be the same. Survivors include a daughter, Melody Eddins (Tom); son, Jeffrey Brackeen; daughter-in-law, Donna Brackeen; sisters, Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Alice Underhill all of Hohenwald. She was loved by five grandchildren and ten great trandchildren: Mandy Eddins Richey (Gary), Nate, Cal and Evelyn-Anne of Lawrenceville, GA; Olivia Eddins Evans (Greg), Carter and Ansley of Wheaton, IL; Lindsay Brackeen Kibbe (Chad) Rylee and Ava of Brighton, MI; Kendall Brackeen Dabbs, Avery and Emery; Cole Brackeen and son Ashton of Hohenwald. She was preceded in death also by a brother, Charles Hinson. Visitation will be on Monday, June 3, 2013 at the funeral home beginning at 5:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with David Adcox and Mandy Richey officiating. Interment will follow in the Grinders Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be mad to either the Lewis Co. Cancer Victims Fund or the American Cancer Society
