Mrs. Hilda J. Arts, 60, a former Marshfield resident, was dead on arrival at 1:10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital. Milwaukee. She had been residing at 4110 W. North Ave., Milwaukee.
The Rev. George C. Passehl, associate pastor, will conduct services at 2 p.m. Friday at St. John's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today and until services Friday at Rembs/Kundinger Chapel where a parish vigil will be at 8 tonight.
The former Hilda Hoffman was born Jan. 27, 1918 in Hewitt where she attended St. Joseph's Parochial School. On July 29, 1937, she was married to Victor J. Hoffman in Mill Creek, Portage County.
They lived in Marshfield until 1944, when they moved to Wisconsin Rapids. After seven years there, they moved to Milwaukee where she had resided since. She was employed by the Milwaukee Public School System for nine years. She was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Milwaukee.
Her husband died March 30, 1969.
Surviving are two daughters. Mrs. Diane Buchholz and Mrs. David (Sharon) Faes, both of Milwaukee; one son, Ronald, Milwaukee; two sisters, Mrs. Elsie J. Huth, Hewitt, and Mrs. Frank (Mathilda) Gauger, Wausau; three brothers, Anton and Gerhard, both of Marshfield, and Alois, Stevens Point; and 13 grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two sons in infancy, two brothers and two sisters.
