Edla was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on November 29, 1932, to Wilhelm and Ella Johnson of Chelmsford, Massachusetts.
On April 18, 1954, she married Arthur C. Allpass. Edla was a very active member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church and of the Daughters of the King. Edla was a Lay Eucharistic Minister for many years and was known for her generosity, kindness, compassion and great humor.
Edla is survived by her husband, Arthur, three children, son, Brad and his wife, Lora of Albuquerque, daughter, Amy Stone and her husband, Larry of Albuquerque and son, Doug and his wife, Sarah of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, seven grandchildren, Ashleigh, Ally, Matthew, Patrick, William, Jennifer and her fiancé, Aaron and Jamie and her husband, Nick, her brother, Roy T. Johnson of Chelmsford, Massachusetts and nieces, Heidi Shealy and her husband, Tom and Lisa Anderson and her husband, Dick, grandnephews, T.A. and Tyler and grandnieces, Stacey and Jillian and many, many friends that were very dear to her heart.
A Memorial Service celebrating Edla's life and remarkable spirit will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 1500 Chelwood Park Blvd. NE. Enichement in St. Mary's Rose Garden Columbarium and reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Edla's honor may be made to St. Mary's Episcopal Church.
