Kathryn L. Knox Bangert, 91 of Springfield died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003 at St. Joseph's Home. Kathryn was born May 9, 1912 in Springfield, daughter of John P. and Esther L. Dickerson Knox. She married Marve Bangert August 23, 1930 and he preceded her in death on December 8, 1997.

Kathryn, a lifelong resident of Springfield was a homemaker. She had previously been employed at the Sangamon County Circuit Clerks Office, Department of Public Health, City of Springfield and Bell Telephone. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, daughter: Marva Kay Tate, grandson, Mike Young and four brothers: Thomas, Howard, Donald and Louis Knox.

She is survived by two sons and one daughter, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren and four brothers: Charles "Carroll" Knox and Lawrence, Paul and Joe Knox.

Memorial Mass at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Burial at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
