MRS. CARL E. BAKER
Alma E. Baker, daughter of Preston and Margaret Mundell, was born in Clarke county, Iowa, on Oct. 28th, 1888, and passed from this life July 7, 1943, at the age of 54 years, 8 months and 9 days.
She grew to womanhood in the Goshen neighborhood and practically all her life was spent in this community.
On April 22, 1908, she was married to Carl E. Baker. To this union three children were born. A daughter, Edna, died in infancy; a son, Raymond, passed away on Jan. 22, 1926. A daughter, Roberta, survives.
When a young woman Mrs. Baker accepted Christ as her Savior and placed her membership in the Goshen Baptist church.
Besides the sorrowing husband and daughter, she is survived by one sister, Mrs. Norm Polser, of Lucas, and by two nieces and one nephew.
Mrs. Baker was quiet and unassuming and her main interest centered in her home and loved ones. She will be greatly missed in the home, in the church and in the community.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at two o'clock at the Goshen church, conducted by the Rev. Archie Beals, of Russell, and burial was in the Goshen cemetery.
